PARATRANSIT AND FIXED ROUTE DRIVER IN YAKIMA, WA


People For People is accepting applications for a full time PARATRANSIT AND FIXED ROUTE DRIVER for our Yakima, WA location. We are looking for a positive and professional team player to assist People For People in achieving our mission.

General Summary:
This position provides driving duties for Paratransit routes (seniors & disabled), and/or Fixed routes for the general public on community coordinated transportation programs.

Essential Function and Duties:
1. Safely drives assigned routes and specialized trips as scheduled.
2. Assists Senior citizens and/or persons of special needs in and out of vehicles as required and insuring they are properly accommodated, in order to assure their comfort and safety.
3. Maintains appropriate records as required.
4. Attends drivers’ meetings and training sessions as required.
5. Performs daily check of vehicles for safety and preventative maintenance as directed by the Driver Supervisor.
6. Cleans and maintains vehicle during shift.

We are looking for a positive and professional team player to assist People For People in achieving our mission. Under the direction of the 2-1-1 Call Center Supervisor, the Resource Database/Information & Referral (I&R) Specialist is responsible maintaining the 2-1-1 database of agency and program resources for 18 counties in Washington State. This includes contacting agencies to update services, as well as identifying new resources for inclusion in the database. This dual position also includes providing confidential, appropriate, unbiased health and social services resource information, referral and advocacy to the general public by telephone; performing preliminary screening for eligibility for public and community services; assisting callers with access issues; and tracking gaps in services.

Educational/Work Experience Requirements: AA degree in Information & Referral, Human Services, Library Services, or other data management focus. In lieu of Degree an equivalent type of related experience and or education may be considered. One year of experience providing information and referral or crisis/hotline service, or one year of experience developing or maintaining social services resource data preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of social services systems, governmental bodies and geography of Central and Eastern Washington preferred. AIRS Certified Information & Referral Specialist or AIRS Certified Resource Specialist preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs with emphasis in Excel.

The position will provide direct administrative support for the Board of Directors and the Executive Team. Must be self-starter, independent worker, team player, with the ability to multi-task, and possess strong organizational skills and work a flexible schedule. Prepares meeting agendas and minutes. Support and chair (as needed) agency events, annual dinner, agency in-service, etc.

Educational/Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience. Five years of experience providing demonstrated, executive level support which requires the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
