| Licensed For Employment in Yakima Office Securing employment can be a daunting task if you lack reliable transportation or have had a driver’s license revoked due to unpaid fines, failure to appear for traffic court or driving without insurance. Such is the case for many People For People clients, especially participants in our Welfare-to-Work and Community Jobs programs. In response to this problem, People For People in a coordinated effort with the Washington State’s WorkFirst program, the Yakima County District Court system, area collection agencies and the Washington State Department of Licensing, designed a program that helps clients resolve transportation barriers and/or obtain a valid driver’s license for employment. Licensed For Employment is a structured educational and support program. Eligible participants attend a mandatory 20-hour class, coordinated by People For People, which emphasizes the values and responsibilities associated with possessing a driver’s license. |
